1. The gist of the lyrics is: Hey doll, yeah I know I’ve never been verbally or demonstratively affectionate, nor all that attentive or caring towards you, and maybe you could construe that as being neglectful, but heey, at least I’ve been thinking of you. So babe, c’mon, you still love me right?

With such sloppy admissions of apathetic laziness, only Elvis could turn it into a ballad to melt your heart and crumble your convictions like a hot bowl o’ flat white to a gooey centered TimTam.

The Petshop Boys did a pretty good cover, but this here is the reason why the King is The King. Even in his later years, all the bacon fat and peanut butter only embellished to make his voice that much creamier. Call me retro but I love this man, he makes me swoon every time.

Note: Flat white is standard hot beverage similar to a latte, and a TimTam is a popular cream filled chocolate cookie in New Zealand. Possibly the two most coveted items by an expat.
